Starting on a New Continent

Hello All,
It was great having a whole month off the bike in California, but the holidays are now over and we will start pedalling our way to Thailand tomorrow.
We had a few days in Beijing trying to adjust to the Chinese lifestyle, but we both agree that we will never be mistaken for locals.
It was nice visiting the capital and its ancient quarters, and we even went for a 6 mile walk on the Great Wall.
The plan now is to cycle South-South-East (we have lots of maps that we can't read), hopefully cycling through the country in 10 weeks or so before crossing into Laos in November.

There are some photos of the Californian Family Road Trip Holiday here.
And photos of Beijing and around here.
Sorry, no new journals, and the report on Central America will also have to wait. We told you: we were on holiday!

We hope you all had a lovely summer.
Best wishes
Karen & Ben
