Message: Happy Birthday Alain!

The 4 Musketeers

Ni how everybody!
This part of the journey was amazing.
First we met cyclos Ed and Myrthe from Holland in Leshan, heading for the mountains. Then we caught up with French round-the-worlders Elise and Brieg and cycled one week together.
Because the main road had a closed area (foreigners are not allowed in many parts of the country), we decided to take a detour/short-cut via a small mountain road, and ended up in the land of Yi minorities. Needless to say, the road was hard, steep, muddy ... sometimes there was no road! But we eventually made it back to the 108 route and we have now reached Yunnan and Kunming. Oh, and we had to get the frame fixed again ...
We are now sorting out a visa extension and should get back on the bike in a couple of days, heading for the Laos border.

New photos are here

And the journal has been updated all the way to California!

Thanks as ever for all the messages and emails.
